Query Templates

Summary

Pre-built prompts designed to extract specific types of insight from the wiki rather than just answering factual questions. They reframe the wiki from a Q&A system into a thinking partner.

Six Categories

1. Synthesis Queries

Ask the wiki to produce integrated understanding from all pages.

"Read everything and give me the single most important insight — the idea that ties everything else together."

2. Gap-Finding Queries

Identify weaknesses and missing knowledge.

"What important topics are missing from my wiki entirely? What should I go and find more sources on?"

3. Debate Queries

Surface tensions and disagreements between sources.

"What is the single biggest disagreement between my sources? Explain both sides as steelman arguments."

4. Output Queries

Produce concrete artifacts from wiki knowledge.

Examples: study guides, cheat sheets, FAQ documents, slide deck outlines — all compiled from synthesized knowledge.

5. Health Queries

Audit the wiki itself.

Examples: duplication checks, consistency audits, integrity reports.

6. Personal Application Queries

Connect the wiki to specific situations.

"Based on everything in my wiki, what are the most likely mistakes I'm currently making — even if I don't know it yet?"

Value

These templates enable qualitatively different applications that emerge naturally from a well-maintained wiki but not from a RAG pipeline:

  • Knowledge gap detection
  • Contradiction surfacing
  • Study guide generation
  • Health monitoring of the knowledge base
